August Visit!

Britany and Taylor are coming down August 13th! Hope is getting a new dog, so it's not likely she will want to leave her "baby" and most likely her dad will not want to be left with the new "baby". =( Britany and Taylor's former coach, Laura is best friends with Tiffany Fallon, a former playmate of the year, who is married to a member of the Grammy Award Winning group Rascal Flatts. Anyway, Laura invited the girls to join her at their concert here in Tampa and to go backstage to meet the group and I think to meet their opening act...Taylor Swift...Britany has meet the guys from Rascal Flatts before, but is still obviously very excited. Both girls are very thrilled and grateful for this amazing opportunity.

On another note; Britany had an awesome visit at the Air Force Academy last week. She said she felt very special when the coach took her around campus and introduced her to everyone they met as the Academy's #1 recruit. She even had the opportunity to land the flight simulator. She was extremely upbeat about the whole experience and is looking forward to her "official visit" in November.

Class of 2009

Senior Pictures

I had been thinking that I might be able to take a picture of Britany that could be used as her Senior yearbook picture. After looking through her yearbook, I know that I can. Quite a few of them look like just regular snapshots. I know when I graduated, the big deal was to find the best photographer around and have an upscale portrait taken. I'm sure the economy has played a huge role in this change, but very many of the seniors from this year look like they opted for a snapshot in the backyard. Anyway, I thought any way to save money is worth a try. I wouldn't mind some feedback on her pictures to help with our choice!

Welcome Home Britany/Good-Bye Taylor....

As we celebrate one reunion, we shed a tear at one good-bye....Brit arrived Monday night in Orlando and we had a wonderful time at Disney's Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. We relaxed at home on Wednesday, reminiscing and chatting. This morning, Christopher and I got up and took Taylor to the airport. She starts cheer camp tomorrow for a few days. I am going to do my best to get to NH in August.

Fourth Of July 2008

We managed to squeeze out a pretty nice fourth even though Colin was on call. After he finished rounds, we raced over to John's Pass and caught a few fireworks as we walked around the shops and docks. We stopped for pizza at this little dive that Colin and I found during one of our previous visits there. It doesn't look like much, but they make great food. Hope and Taylor even agree!

Like Mother...

Obviously, the girls and I have been going down "memory lane" since they arrived! I'm sure you've all seen Nana's blog by now too! Alas, we have been pouring over old photographs and making the obvious comparisons. Thought I'd share! =)

Water Baby

Now that his sisters are back, Christopher has decided to give this pool thing another chance and decided it's not so bad after all! He has been having a great time and is getting more adventurous. He wants to put his face in the water. Of course, this is making me extremely nervous as I am no star swimmer. In fact, the other day Hope said to me "You can swim right mommy?" and my response was "Well, I wouldn't call what I do swimming." "Huh?" she said with a puzzled look. I clarified by stating "It's more like surviving". Anyway, hopefully Colin will get some time this weekend to go in the pool with him. He was on the swim team in high school and is calm as a cucumber in the water! But, alas, he has office hours Saturday, is on call all weekend and is catching up on stacks of charts left on his desk while he was in Toronto last week! *UGH*
